Making Reports

Reports are not taken via email; please call the non-emergency number at 256-878-1212 for assistance.

Police Incident Offense Report (I/O)

If you are a victim of a crime (burglary, assault, theft of property, domestic violence, etc.), you may obtain a copy of the I/O Report by visiting the police department during normal business hours.

I/O Fees

One must show proof of identification and pay a fee of $15 to obtain the report. If the victim intends to pursue criminal charges, the fee is waived and the victim must visit the Municipal Court for further instructions.

Crash Report

If you are involved in a motor vehicle crash in the city limits of Albertville and need a copy of the report, please visit the police department during normal business hours or go online to LexisNexis.  *Note that LexisNexis only contains crash reports that happened after August 1, 2020.

Crash Report Fees

The fee is $15 and photo identification is required. 

Extenuating Circumstances

  • If the driver is not physically able to request the report in person, they may call the office and inform office personnel of the name of the person who will pick up the report and ensure that they also have photo identification. 
  • If the driver is from out-of-town, the driver can call the office and the fee can be collected via credit/debit card and the report can be faxed to the insurance company or other interested party.
  • If the crash occurred outside the city limits of Albertville, please contact the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

Crash reports may be obtained over the phone, then sent to you through email or fax. (Verification Required)

Arrest Report

If you have been arrested and would like to request a copy of the arrest report, you may obtain a copy by visiting the police department during normal business hours. Please note that only the front page of the arrest report is public record. A subpoena is required for the remaining pages of the report.
