April 5, 2012 -
Mayor Lyons and members of the Commercial Development Authority presented a check to Linda  Henry for the Second Chance Food Pantry.  The donation was made possible by the Taste of Albertville event in February.  (Left to right: Jerry Cofield, Greg Price, Linda Henry, Mayor Lyons and Mike Price.)


   
April 2, 2012 - Mayor Lyons and Jim Gentry, Chairman of Keep Albertville Beautiful presented the Residential Award to Mr. & Mrs. Hill on Sycamore Lane.  The Commercial Beautification Award was presented to Dr. Allen Kirby on Martling Road. 


March 6, 2012 -
Mayor Lyons representing the City of Albertville and Jim Gentry representing Keep Albertville Beautiful presented the Municipal Utilities Board with the Beautification Achievement Award for the vast improvement made to the property they aquired on East Main Street.

   
February 29, 2012 -
Mayor Lyons and Jim Gentry, Chairman of Keep Albertville Beautiful presented the Residential Award to Mr. & Mrs. Wilabay on Ramsey Drive.  The Commercial Beautification Award was presented to Dr. Robert Barham on South Broad Street. 


   
Thursday, February 23, 2012 - Taste of Albertville
was a huge success with over 500 people in attendance!  Thanks to all our restaurants and beverage distributors for participating and congratulations to all our door prize winners!



  Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 Marshall Christian Academy was named national champions of the Keep America Beautiful Recycle-Bowl. They recycled an impressive 41 pounds of waste per person to earn the top spot. More than 1,200 schools in 47 states participated in the first nationwide K-12 recycling competition, recovering more than 2 million pounds of recyclables. January 19, 2012 - Mayor Lyons and Jim Gentry, Chairman of Keep Albertville Beautiful presented the Residential Award to Mrs. Denney on Turnberry Lane.  The Commercial Beautification Award was presented to Hospice of Marshall County/Shepards Cove.  



 
         
December 19, 2011 - Mayor Lyons and Jim Gentry, Chairman of Keep Albertville Beautiful presented the Residential Award to Mr. & Mrs. Wilkerson on South Broad Street.  The Commercial Beautification Award was presented to Lowell Galloway and Susan Armstrong of Vantage Bank.

December 15, 2011 - Mayor Lyons proclaimed the week of December 19th - 24th as Shop Albertville Week surrounded by local small business owners. When shopping for Christmas, please consider shopping in Albertville and support our community and schools. November 17, 2011 -
Mayor Lyons and Jim Gentry, Chairman of Keep Albertville Beautiful presented the Residential Award to Gary & Ann Stanfield at 309 Martling Road.  The Commercial Beautification Award was presented to Freda Free with Progress Rail Services. 


November 16, 2011 - The City of Albertville & Keep Albertville Beautiful was presented the Governor's Award by the Alabama People Against a Littered State (PALS) for the "Don't Drop it on Alabama Spring Clean-up" project.

November 15, 2011 - Keep Albertville Beautiful presented awards to students from Albertville Middle School, Albertville High School and Marshall Christian Academy at the Albertville-Boaz Recycling Center for their posters and tee-shirt design promoting recycling.  Albertville City Schools and Marshall Christian Academy participated in the Keep America Beautiful Recycle Bowl and developed a contest to encourage students and faculty members at each school to participate in the recycling program.  Pictured left to right: Evan Nixon, Mateo Francisco, Julio Elizarraras,Nicholas Diprima, Alex Honea, Kadie Gentry, Luis Patino and Mayra Garcia.
 










November 11, 2011 - The City of Albertville hosted a Veterans Ceremony and unveiled a Veterans Memorial in honor of past and current service members. Over 250 were in attendance for the dedication in Graham Park and there are currently 123 Veterans included in the memorial.  To nominate a Veteran for inclusion in the memorial, submit an application to Mayor's office.
