The Building Department is located in City Hall at 116 West Main Street, with the entrance to the deparment located at the rear of the building, and is open Monday - Friday,  7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
 
 
The Building Department is responsible for the following:
  • Interpretation and enforcement of all building codes and standards developed or adopted by the City of Albertville
  • Issuance of all construction permits for the City of Albertville
  • Enforcement of all zoning ordinances of the City of Albertville
  • Inspections to determine compliance with applicable codes
  • Issuing Certificates of Occupancy
  • Providing citizens with information regarding existing flood plains
  • Processing  applications that come before the Board of Zoning Adjustments and the Planning Commission
 
 
 
Building Permits
 
Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish or change the occupancy of a building or structure shall first make application to the building official and obtain the required permit.
