Q. What are the business hours for the records division? A. 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Q. What price is charged for a copy of a report?
A. All reports are $10.00. If you are the victim on an incident/offense report and obtaining a warrant there is no cost.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept for reports? A. Cash, personal check or money order.
Q. Can you fax reports? A. Yes after the $10.00 report fee has been received.
Q. Is identification required to pick up a report? A. Yes. A photo ID must be presented at the time the report is picked up.
Q. Can reports be requested by mail? A. Yes. Mail report request to: Albertville Police Department, ATTENTION: RECORDS DIVISION 201 S. Broad St. Albertville, AL 35950.
When requesting a report by mail please include your name, date of birth or social security number (for identification purposes) and date of incident. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Q. Is a criminal background public record? A. Yes. The Records Division can complete a local background check (which includes just the Albertville Police Department records). There is no fee for this service.
Q. What information is considered to be public record? A. Information listed on the front side of Incident/Offense reports is public information (victim information such as SSN and DOB are not public record). Information on a crash report is public record (except for personal information, SSN and DOB). An officer narrative is not public record, but can be obtained by subpoena. |
